The Trade Federation of the State of Rio de Janeiro (Fecomércio RJ) promotes, on the 25th and 26th of this month, together with the State’s Micro and Small Business Support Service (Sebrae RJ), the Hackathon Rio Empreender Criativo competition. Individuals aged 18 years or older may apply.
Entries are individual and free and close on the 22nd, and can be done at site of the event. the cultural contest online aims to develop innovative technology-based solutions in businesses related to the creative economy, encompassing five sectors: education, food; nutrition and gastronomy; audio-visual; art; culture and entertainment; theater and music; and tourism.
The president of Fecomércio RJ, Antonio Florencio de Queiroz Junior, highlighted that the creative economy generates market renewal, in addition to business development and the recovery of the economy through knowledge.
The superintendent director of Sebrae Rio, Antonio Alvarenga, pointed out that the more than 74,600 small businesses linked to the creative economy in Rio de Janeiro need to constantly seek innovative solutions. According to Alvarenga, Sebrae RJ’s mission is to promote innovation and make small businesses increasingly competitive.
Experience
Applicants must have knowledge or experience in at least one of the areas of software (computer program); engineering; design graphic or digital; food, gastronomy, nutrition; art and culture; audio-visual; education; entertainment, music, theater; communication, advertising, marketing; and business administration or management.
During the event, participants will compete in teams of three to five members, which will be previously formed by those registered. Each team must choose one of the themes or creative sectors and develop the project according to the objectives presented by the organization of the event.
Winners will be announced on March 30th. The members of the team ranked first in each of the five creative sectors will receive free courses in remote format as a prize, with themes to be released later, according to the opening and confirmation of the class.
The courses will be offered by partner institutions of Fecomércio RJ, previously aligned with Sebrae RJ.
