According to research carried out by the entity with its members, claims for compensation grew by more than 43% compared to another study published on June 19, when insurance records reached R$3.885 billion.

Despite the value of over R$1.71 billion, Cnseg has registered a slowdown in claims, indicating that the data is close to the final value. In terms of quantity, insurers have recorded 57,045 claims notices since the beginning of May.

Expansion

“Requests defined as Other [seguros] (business, transportation, miscellaneous risks and engineering risks) were those that showed the greatest growth (65.3%). There were 7,133 claims for compensation, totaling R$817.9 million”, reported the confederation.

In absolute terms, the entity recorded that the Major Risks sector increased by almost R$1.5 billion from one month to the next, reaching payments of over R$2.8 billion. In total, 821 claims were reported.

“In the coming months, it is possible that we will only see growth in requests for Major Risks, which require longer loss assessment processes, involving detailed inspections,” stated the president of CNseg, Dyogo Oliveira.
