A company owned by Francisco Gavidia, brother of the Defense Minister, Joseph Louis Gavidiawon contracts with the State after his relative took over as a member of the Cabinetdespite the fact that this is prohibited by law, as reported this Sunday by the Panorama program.
The aforementioned Sunday indicated that the company “Precise Systems Solutions”, of which Francisco Gavidia is a member of the board and a minority shareholder, won two contracts after his brother’s oath: the first of them for a little more than half a million soles with the Comptroller and another with the Ministry of Economy and Finance for 90 thousand soles.

Panorama showed that, in his affidavit of interests, the current Minister of Defense stated that his brother was an economist and that he was engaged in private activities but did not report that he had a company that contracted with State institutions.
The program stressed that it is illegal for a family member of a high-ranking official (such as a Minister of State), to be able to contract with the State.
In addition, it is shown that, according to official records, the minister’s brother has met during the current government with different ministers and even with the then secretary general of the Government Palace, Bruno Pacheco, in October of last year.
