The Executive Power established a discount of 5,000 pesos per month in social security contributions for companies that hire personnel between 30 and 45 years old, the minister, Pablo Mieres, informed the Presidential Communication. The objective is to promote the employment of workers in this age group between July and October, who must have been unemployed during the last six months.
The head of the Ministry of Labor and Social Security (MTSS), Pablo Mieres, reported, this July 8, that the decree that establishes the incentive for hiring people between 30 and 45 years old is complementary to the Employment Promotion Law for vulnerable sectors.
He recalled that this rule was voted on last year and that its beneficiaries are those who hire young people under 30 years of age, women of any age, people over 45 years of age or with disabilities.
With the new decree, an incentive linked to age, not included in the law, is added for four months, from July 1 to October 31 of this year. In this case, those who employ a person in the aforementioned age group will receive a discount on social security contributions of 5,000 pesos per month, until October.
Mieres clarified that the rest of the stimuli of the Employment Promotion Law will remain in force and informed that, for the modality announced on the day, people must have been unemployed during the last six months.
The employer must appear before the MTSS, where it will be checked that the worker meets the requirements and the information will immediately be transferred to the Social Security Bank (BPS) so that the discounts for the corresponding months become effective.
The goal is to help increase employment; It consists of an additional for the sector with fewer problems in this sense, but that, in any case, maintains unemployed people, Mieres pointed out.
