Companies in the hydrocarbon sector paid US$ 1,241 million in royalties to the State in 2021

A total of 1,241 million dollars were paid to the Peruvian State by the companies that work in the for royalties in the year 2021, informed the.

The energy mining union said that this figure (US$ 1,241 million) represented a growth of 143.3% in relation to the US$ 510 million dollars that oil companies paid for royalties in 2020.

The companies that operate in the national hydrocarbon industry -he indicated- paid 171.4 million dollars for royalties in December 2021, which meant an increase of 122.5% compared to the same month of 2020 (US $ 77 million).

Likewise, it cited that the royalties for December 2021 (US$ 171.4 million) were also higher than those reported in the same month of 2019 (US$ 64.2 million).

The energy mining union explained that, last December, companies in the hydrocarbon sector paid royalties: US$ 111.3 million for the exploitation of natural gas and US$ 16.1 million for oil; as well as US$ 44 million for the production of natural gas liquids.

The SNMPE commented that the increase in royalties was favored by the increase in international oil and natural gas prices, as well as by the reactivation of the world and national economy.
