The company Habanos S.A. announced the upcoming celebration of the 55th anniversary of its famous Cohiba brand, which will take place in Havana from September 7 to 9 to come.
“After a year of waiting due to the health situation of the pandemic, Cohiba, the most emblematic and prestigious brand of Habanos, will celebrate its 55 years of history and success with a program full of surprises for fans of what is considered the best tobacco in the world” , refers to the statement of the Cuban-Spanish joint venture to which he had access OnCuba.
The program of activities for the event will begin on September 6 with an exclusive reception for the press, at the Grand Packard Hotel in the Cuban capital, while the welcome night, in which the presence of around a thousand attendees is expected, It will take place a day later in the El Laguito Protocol Room.

A visit to “the cradle of Cohiba Habanos, the famous El Laguito Factory” is scheduled for the 8th, according to the company, which anticipates that “the final touch will be the Gala Dinner at the Pabexpo Fairgrounds on the 9th. of September”.
The latter will be, according to the organizers, “a celebration full of luxury, exclusivity and passion for Cohiba brand Habanos.” In it, the 2020 and 2021 Habanos Awards will be presented in their different categories, and a “very special” humidor auction will be held, the proceeds of which will go entirely to the Cuban Public Health system.
These activities are usually carried out during the Habano Festival, whose traditional date is the month of February, but in the last two years could not be held due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Habanos, SA is a world leader in the commercialization of Premium cigars both in Cuba and in the rest of the world and has an exclusive distribution network present in more than 150 countries.
In this way, it markets 27 Premium brands made entirely by hand and protected by the Protected Designation of Origin (PDO), among which Cohiba, Montecristo, Romeo y Julieta, Partagás, Hoyo de Monterrey and H. Upmann stand out.
In 2021 the company reached a sales figure of 568 million dollars, which represents a growth of 15% compared to the previous year.
