Community references

They will receive training in mental health

The Departmental Health Directorate of Cerro Largo offered details of a Training that will be aimed at Community References from the entire department.

This proposal aims to prepare people to detect signs that allow them to avoid suicide attempts.

“This training workshop will take place tomorrow, Friday the 29th, at the Shopping Center. There, a tool that is within the circle of mental health care will be discussed.” expressed the Dr. Milton Silva.

“This is intended for Community References. Through a workshop we want to provide them with training to have a greater probability of preventing someone from committing suicide.” he added.

“Talking about Community References is talking about all the people who are part of the community. We believe that in a certain way they have to know about the subject because people both in the neighborhoods of Melo and in the small towns in the interior all know each other. Therefore, in the event of any adverse phenomenon that may occur with a certain person, those References, that population mass, are capable of detecting a symptom, a sign that can be interpreted as that that person may be at risk of committing suicide.” stated the main health authority in the department.

This event will take place tomorrow, Friday, November 29, between 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. on the Upper Floor of the Cerro Largo Commercial and Industrial Center headquarters.

“Personnel from the corresponding area of the Ministry of Public Health of Montevideo will come” assured Dr. Silva.

“With this we seek to give the population enough elements to try to detect something strange in someone that makes us think that that person is undergoing a depressive process. In short, we aim to prevent suicide from being committed.” he stated.

“More or less taking it to another sphere, so that it can be assimilated from a medical point of view, is what happens with the AED. These devices prevent death from sudden cardiorespiratory arrest. Who manages the AEDs? Health Professionals? Yes. But they are also managed by people, managed by people. This tends to be a fine mesh, a fine network to contain that person, knowing how to listen, knowing how to interpret.” he remarked. “Those are the fundamental tools that those who correspond will transmit to us” he added.

BE ALERT FOR SIGNS

“A teacher from Montevideo is coming to give a workshop that will be the only one in person because later it will continue through the Virtual Training Platform msp.guy.uy” explained Monica Cardozo at a press conference.

“Try to bring people closer to detecting warning signs. “The aim is to advise citizens by giving them tools that allow them to detect different factors that may be alerts of possible actions.” held.

“It is a training workshop for Community References” he reiterated. “Although this activity is at the national level, we are interested in involving the entire society of Cerro Largo. “It has been dictated in all departments of the country and we believe that we also need this containment.” Cardozo pointed out.

Those interested in participating can contact the email [email protected] or call 1934 Extension 7403.
