Community receives first stage of the Pané school, Cedi-Mujer opens

Comunidad recibe primera etapa de la escuela Pané, abren Cedi-Mujer

Yesterday, President Abinader inaugurated the first stage of the Fray Ramón Pané primary school, in Los Jardines del Norte, and the Center for the Comprehensive Development of Women (CEDI-Mujer)in North Santo Domingo.

The school has 42 classrooms with spaces to receive 1,890 students and will have a dining room, mixed court, infirmary, library, virtual classroom, offices, teachers’ lounge, cistern, civic area, patio, landscaping, fence and sentry box.

Angel HernandezMinister of Education, said that “we can change the country from the classrooms, the president has done it, providing the resources for this school to be completed.” While at the inauguration of El CEDI-Mujer, which was executed by the Social Policy Cabinet (GPS), with contributions from the IDB, Tony Pena, He stated that it will serve 800 users.

It will operate a gender prosecutor’s office for SDN and 12 other institutions and will facilitate quick access to justice through the Gender Violence Assistance Unit.
