92% of the funds allocated for the 2026 Participatory Budget in the Libertador municipality will be allocated to social investment, as declared by the mayor of Caracas, Carmen Meléndez, who presented this balance before the Municipal Council for approval.
«We are guaranteeing our people all the services, […] social aid, […] health, education, culture, sports, recreation, as are the lines of our president Nicolás Maduro,” declared the capital president.
Additionally, Meléndez reported that “the projects that come in second place for the 299 communes of Caracas already have their budget guaranteed.”
«In this 2026 budget we have repeated this methodology, […]. “That the 1,162 projects that came in second place this year already have all the resources,” clarified the capital’s president. “It is our people who decide what their priorities are in the territory,” he concluded.
