Santo Domingo. Neighborhood organizations and community leaders of Santo Domingo demanded that the Government maintain the free services in the Luis Eduardo Aybar (Morgan) health cityknown as “The Hospital of the Poor ”.
Warned that they will oppose any attempt to privatize Health Center.
Demand was made public during the first Mass of the novenarian “For health and against privatization”held in the María Auxiliadora parish.
The ceremony was directed by Father Patricio (David) Ramírez, director of the Salesian community.

In a statement, representatives of the Don Bosco neighborhood organizations coordinator (Codonbosco), Lto María Auxiliadora and the Peace Education Center, Tolerance and development (CEPATODE) recalled that the hospital attends patients from the seven municipalities of the Santo Domingo province, its municipal districts and vulnerable sectors of the National District.
Community leaders José Antonio MiesesAlexis Rafael PeñaFiordaliza Guzmán and Ángel Guillermo Molina asked the Government to reinstall the departments of Mental health, Burned and diabetic foot, and guarantee its operation without the collection of quotas.
They also asked to improve the clinical-surgical service, appoint medical staff of the nearby communities and modernize the dating system.
The organizations described the hospital self -management model as an open door to privatization and denounced the deficiencies of the Primary Care Unitssuch as the lack of medicines, personnel and the deterioration of the facilities.
In addition, they claimed that Francisco E. Moscoso Puello and Félix María Goico hospitals be strengthened to ensure free care and medicine to poor resources.
Among those attending the act were Ynocencio Reyes, Raquel de la Cruz, Arsenio Pineda, Dannys Feliz, Santiago Martínez, Congratulations Dishmey, Elin Cuevas, Pedro Mota and Altagracia Brand.
