Community Houses of Justice will hold a social training day

Santo Domingo.- The Center for Community Houses of Justice (CCCJ), on the occasion of its 16th anniversary, began the 1st. social training day “Towards a culture of human rights and participation for peaceful coexistence”, with the aim of strengthening knowledge on human rights, as a fundamental axis for peaceful coexistence.

Within the framework of the event, the conference Human rights, a critical look and hopeby Luis Fernando Astudillo, specialist in human rights, and author of the manual Human Rights Education for social and community organizations: A manual for peaceful coexistence and access to justiceeducational material that will be used for citizen training.

This day includes the realization of several courses, aimed at more than 500 representatives of institutions, social and community organizations linked to the Community Houses of Justice of Santiago, in the La Joya and Cienfuegos sectors, in Moca; and in the National District, in the Ciénaga.

The opening ceremony was attended by the main authorities from the public and private sectors, civil society and international organizations: Geanilda Vázquez on behalf of President Luis Abinader, Mayra Jiménez, Minister for Women, Carlos Pimentel, General Director of the General Directorate of Public Procurement, Pablo Ulloa, Ombudsman, Jeffrey Levine and Lissette Dumit from the Office of Youth, Education and Security of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

Likewise, Rosa Iris Linares, director of Inclusive Justice of the Judicial Power, was present, representing the president of the Council of the Judicial Power and of the Supreme Court of Justice, Luis Henry Molina, Alfredo Pacheco, president of the Chamber of Deputies and Pedro Catraing, senator from Samaná, on behalf of Eduardo Estrella, president of the Senate, among other authorities.

The words of welcome to the event were given by the president of the CCCJ, Nelson Espinal Báez, and the explanations of the development of the day, by the executive director of the CCCJ, José Ceballos. The training action has the technical and financial support of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the General Directorate of Public Procurement, the Ombudsman and the Ministry of Women, as well as public and private institutions. of the municipalities where the activities will be held
