He Committee for the Freedom of Political Prisoners launched the call for the first edition of Presencia de la Esperanza. It is a space “to denounce, testify, demand answers to our complaints and accompany those who are unjustly deprived of liberty for political reasons.”
Through his social media accounts, the Committee for the Freedom of Political Prisoners announced the call. The day will take place on Tuesday, November 18 starting at 10:00 in the morning in the Parque Carabobo square, in Caracas.
Call for the first edition of Presencia de la Esperanza
“Mothers, family members, friends, defenders and Venezuelans of faith and good will invite you to participate in the first day of the Presence of Hope, a civic and peaceful space to denounce, testify, demand answers to our complaints and accompany those who today are unjustly deprived of liberty for political reasons,” they noted.
They highlighted that in this first edition a prayer will be offered for political prisoners and their families. Likewise, they will create handkerchiefs with names and messages of hope, sing and share testimonies.
Furthermore, they reported that will formally submit new complaints and we will request a response and information, protected by article 51 of the Constitution.
On the other hand, they added: “Our objective is clear and legitimate: to maintain a constant, human, peaceful and civic presence to demand truth, justice and freedom. Bring your white handkerchief, your faith, your voice and your hope. We return together. And we will return as many times as necessary.”
