The Committee for the Freedom of Political Prisoners (Clippve) denounced the arbitrary transfer of political prisoners, including Aldo Rosso. The NGO warned about the risk to the lives of detainees with these changes in detention centers.
«In the last few hours, arbitrary transfers of political prisoners from Caracas police commands to different prisons in the country have been reported,” he warned in his social networks.
Rosso, 70 years old, was detained at the PNB headquarters in La Yaguara and, according to the Committee, he was transferred – along with other political prisoners – to other prison facilities.
According to his relatives, Rosso suffers from “varicocele and an inguinal hernia that evolved into a tumor, in addition to a recent episode of urinary bleeding, fever and severe weakness.

In February, the leader had to be transferred to a hospital for surgery, but the authorities have prevented the procedure, denounced the NGO, which warned of the risks to his health when he was allegedly transferred to the Tocuyito prison, Carabobo state.
«This transfer puts his life at imminent risk, since his state of health requires specialized care that this prison cannot guarantee. The concern is even greater because, according to recent records, two political prisoners detained in the post-election context—Osgual González and Jesús Rafael Álvarez—died in the Tocuyito prison due to negligence and denial of medical care, in circumstances that should never have occurred in State custody.
Aldo Rosso was arrested on July 4, 2024 near his home when he was preparing to go to the demonstration called in Caracas for the start of the electoral campaign. After six days, where his family had no knowledge of where he was, he was presented in court and publicly accused by prosecutor Tarek William Saab of being linked to an “attack” on the electrical system.
The Committee demanded a Immediate humanitarian measure that allows his urgent transfer to a medical center, the necessary surgical intervention and family support during his recovery.
