Commissions study law for Commuter Train proposed by Korean referents

This morning the head of the Ministry of Public Works and Communications, Mr. Rodolfo Segovia, attended the Senate for a work meeting in conjunction with several commissions to study the law for the Commuter Train, proposed by Korean referents.

The reason was the study of a framework law project that establishes special provisions, in addition to financing for the execution and implementation of the “Commuter Train” in the section between the city of Asunción and Ypacaraí, Central department.

On the occasion, the head of Ferrocarriles del Paraguay SA (FEPASA) Lauro Ramírez mentioned that this project is financed by the Korean government and private companies such as Hyundai.

At another time, Ramírez emphasized that at the end of the year the houses will be delivered to the inhabitants who live in vulnerable conditions, installed in the areas through which the train would pass.

In turn, Senator Salym Buzarquis, head of the Public Works Commission, stressed the need to improve the transportation system, underlining that the train is the beginning of the great solution “because Paraguayans deserve to have a railway system just like the Lopez,” he said.

The Minister of the Technical Planning Secretariat (STP), Viviana Caso, the Vice Minister of Economy Iván Haas, representatives of the National Electricity Administration (ANDE), Financial Development Agency (AFD), public works commission, Vice President of Korea Overseas Infrastructure & Urban Development Corporation (KIND) Han Kyu Lim and Korean team, advisers to the senate commissions and representatives of FEPASA, among others.
