The Undersecretary for Human Rights, Population and Migration of the Ministry of the Interior, Alejandro Encinas, said that the Truth and Justice Commission for the Ayotzinapa case is facing a campaign against it to discredit its work and the results of the investigations. He asserted that there are sectors that are committed to silence and impunity in the disappearance of the normalistas that occurred in 2014.
Through a video broadcast on the social networks of the federal agency, Encinas stated that these reactions against the investigations were expected since, in its performance, the Commission is shaking old structures of power
, which were not expressly identified. He considered that there are sectors that prefer silence, betting on impunity and at the time they considered that there would be no concrete actions to reach the truth in this case.
Despite the fact that there is an articulation in the campaign so that the result of the investigations is silence and impunity, Encinas asserted that they will continue with the investigations, because the main objective is know the truth of the facts, find the boys and that there be justice
.
The undersecretary mentioned that the relationship with the parents of the disappeared students is very close, there is coordination with the new special prosecutor for the Ayotzinapa case, Rosendo Gómez, and even when there are some differences, there is a good relationship with the members of the Interdisciplinary Group of Independent Experts , trying to build a joint route with new lines of research.
Our job is to strengthen this truth process and, unlike in the past, we do not seek to build a single and unassailable path, we seek to know the truth and the whereabouts of the normalistas and to satisfy the demands for justice of the families and Mexican society.
said the undersecretary.
