Jesús María Casal, president of the National Commission for Primary, announced this Friday the 16th at a press conference that said instance will advance with self-managed elections and with manual voting. Along with other members of the CP, Casal stressed that they will continue on the path of identifying and preparing self-managed centers.
Although the announcement is today, Casal said, it is a scenario that has been worked on. In his statements, the lawyer acknowledged that the scenario of self-managed primaries is very demanding.
The president of the CP also indicated that “the only way to achieve self-managed primaries is with a commitment from society to identify self-managed centers and the spaces that we can have.” He added that there is a preliminary inquiry into these logistics.
“The main challenge will be to identify the voting centers,” Casal reiterated. Another issue that they consider essential is the training of board members.
