From coffee beans to polar bears, Christmas commercials became part of the collective memory in Colombia.

News Colombia.

Nostalgia has a special way of sneaking into the heart, especially in December, when memories of other times come alive with melodies, images and phrases that seem to stop time.

In Colombia, Christmas is not only announced with Christmas carols, lights and novenas; For many, television and radio commercials are also a key piece of this era.

Icons such as the “coffee bean”, the Coca-Cola polar bear or the Caracol Radio jingle not only sold products, but told stories and became part of the country’s Christmas tradition.

Red Eagle: the grain of coffee that traveled through hearts

One of the most emblematic was the Águila Roja commercial. This featured a coffee bean on a magical journey through a manger, culminating in a tender kiss to Baby Jesus.

The story began in 1990, with the voice of the singer Isadora giving life to the main song. The 1998 version, animated with more than 1,500 carefully crafted drawings, is a milestone in Colombian advertising.

Although in 2014 the brand adapted to 3D animation, the memory of those original lines remains insurmountable for many.

Orbitel: the yellow glove that celebrated family unity

In the 90s and 2000s, Orbitel stood out for a very particular character: a yellow glove that came to life to transmit messages of unity and peace during Christmas.

This charismatic icon invited Colombians to value family time, leaving a message that went beyond the promotion of telephone services.

Coca-Cola and polar bears: a universal magic

Coca-Cola has always known how to capture the essence of each season, but its 1995 Christmas commercial remained engraved in the national memory.

A polar bear sliding down a snow slide while sharing a bottle of Coca-Cola became a symbol of simple joy and togetherness.

Jet chocolates: sweet memories and unforgettable albums

Since 1961, Chocolatinas Jet has been part of the lives of Colombians, and their Christmas commercials were no exception.

With catchy songs and colorful animations, these ads managed to convey the warmth of the holidays, while remembering the tradition of collecting their emblematic prints.

Comcel: a blue that painted telecommunications as Christmas

Before becoming Claro, Comcel made an impact with Christmas campaigns where blue, instead of the traditional red, made the difference.

Its advertising from the late 90s managed to resonate with its unique melody and messages of closeness in times of distance.

Caracol Radio: the most remembered votes for peace and prosperity

Caracol Radio’s Christmas jingle, created in 1955, is an unofficial anthem of Colombian Christmas. With an origin inspired by the radio traditions of northern Mexico, this melody has been accompanying family celebrations for decades with its message of hope.

“Come on beavers, come on”: a commercial to laugh and remember

The endearing Galletas Noel commercial with the boy dressed as a beaver is a gem of Colombian advertising. Its unexpected humorous twist and the authenticity of its story made it a classic that continues to be a source of laughter and nostalgia every December.

A holiday nostalgia trip

These commercials are more than advertising strategies; They are living memories that have passed down generations. Each melody, each character and each story transport us to moments of togetherness, laughter and celebration, reminding us that, although time passes, the magic of Christmas remains.
