Like every September 26, this Monday is the Trade Employee Daywith which the workers of the sector will have an extra day of rest, since most of the businesses will remain closed.
The date was established on November 11, 2009 and promulgated on December 10 of that same year, for which the Argentine Federation of Trade and Service Employees (FAECYS) and the Argentine Chamber of Commerce (CAC) establish a day of rest for workers in the sector, within the framework of the celebration of the Trade Employee Day.
In this way, 1,200,000 employees will have a day off to commemorate the Trade Employee Day; however, the CAC explained that “In the case of establishments that decide to operate, and that summon their workers to do so, commercial employees will have the option of providing labor services or not.”
Likewise, the premises that are attended by their owners will remain open, if they consider it so. In the case of businesses that open their doors to the public, the CAC points out that “these days they do not require the granting of a compensatory rest, but the payment of a surcharge equivalent to 100%”. Likewise, it clarifies that “if you do not work, the employee has rest that day, but his monthly remuneration will not vary.”
For their part, from the FAECYS they indicated that “for this 2022 it was established to maintain Monday, September 26 as a holiday for the general branch 130/75, and move the holiday for those who are under agreement 781/20 (Centers of Contact), with the aim that all workers can enjoy their day.
In this sense, large supermarket chains, clothing stores, toy stores, shoe stores, galleries and shopping centers join the celebration of this date and will keep their doors fully or partially closed this Monday.
Who will have a day off
The rest day will reach the workers who are part of the 22 Chambers and Federations that are members of the sector, among which are the CAC; the Confederation of Medium Enterprises (CAME).
Also the Union of Argentine Commercial Entities (UDECA), the Employer Coordinating Commission of Mercantile Activities, the Chamber of Wholesale Merchants, and the Argentine Federation of Trade in Household and Related Artifacts.
