Before the troops and the new Military Dome, the President of the Republic, Gustavo Petro, In the company of the Minister of Defense, Iván Velásquez, they carried out their second reconnaissance march at the José María Córdova military school for cadets.
Initially on the spot, President Petro took the oath of office and sworn in the defense minister, Iván Velásquez.

Then Minister Velásquez did the same with the new commanders of the Military Dome, he began with the Commander of the Military Forces, Major General Helder Fernán Giraldo.
Giraldo had been performing as second commander (e) and inspector of the Army and leads 38 years in the institution.
Likewise, the now commander Giraldo continued to give way with the possession of the commander of the Army, Major General Luis Mauricio Ospina, the Commander of the Air Force, Major General Luis Carlos Córdoba and Vice Admiral Francisco Cubides in the National Navy.
For his part, Ospina was in charge of the Escuela Superior de Guerra, in it he always ensured to strengthen the educational quality of its members and to respect what his predecessors had done.
After that, President Petro and Minister Velásquez carried out the respective review of the troops in the company of what since last August 12 was defined as the Military Dome for the present Government.
In a final act, in his words, the president of the Colombians, assured that he seeks to work on the pillars that allow reaching what he has called, a ‘final peace’.

“It is not about changing one promotion for another, but about changing the conception itself, we want an Army that begins to prepare for peace, that if it is allowed later, it will become a Peace Army,” he concluded.
