Santo Domingo. – The spokesman and director of Strategy and Communication of the Presidency, Homero Figueroa, reported that President Luis Abinader will meet this Tuesday with General Laura J. Richardson, commander of the United States Southern Command to discuss cooperation and security efforts between both nations.
Figueroa indicated that General Richardson, commander of the United States Southern Command, will attend as a guest the reception of the Graduation Ceremony of the Sixty-first Class of Cadets of the Dominican Republic Army, at the Batalla de Las Carreras Military Academy.
The spokesperson for the Presidency explained that in the meeting between President Luis Abinader and the commander of the Southern Command of the United States, issues related to donations made to the country such as military vehicles, ships and mobile hospitals will also be discussed.
Likewise, Figueroa said that they will talk about gender integration, women leaders, as well as peace and security in the region.
Likewise, he said that future events in relation to Fuerzas Comando 2023 will be discussed.
The Head of State will be accompanied by the Defense Minister, Lieutenant General Carlos Luciano Diaz Morfa, and the Commander General of the Army, Major General Carlos Antonio Fernández Onofre.
