The representative of María Corina Machado urged the Primary Commission to clarify “as soon as possible” what the technical conditions of these elections are and, in particular, to answer how the security of the identity of the voters will be guaranteed, in addition to how and who will count the votes of citizens inside and outside the country
The lawyer Perkins Rocha, liaison for the command of María Corina Machado (Vente Venezuela) with the National Commission for Primary Education, asked this instance to postpone the nomination of candidates until the scope of the technical participation of the National Electoral Council (CNE) is defined. ) on October 22.
In a video, the lawyer criticized the lack of information regarding the matters dealt with by the Commission and the CNE in various meetings on possible technical assistance from the body. What are those specs? What is the technical assistance that the CNE will apply to the primary process called by the citizens by the Venezuelan opposition? The National Commission of Primaries again does not speak clearly to the country. It is addressed to the opposition citizens who responsibly aspire definitions from it, in future and imperfect tenses.
According to Rocha, the primaries are subject “to the realization of hypothetical situations, such as ‘the acceptance and compliance with some specifications’ that depend only on the will of a body (CNE), in which nobody believes or trusts.”

The representative of María Corina Machado urged the Commission to clarify “as soon as possible” what the technical conditions of these elections are and, in particular, to answer how the security of the identity of the voters will be guaranteed, in addition to how and who will count the votes of citizens inside and outside the country.
«In short, who will control the primaries process? The Primaries Commission or the CNE? It is absolutely irresponsible towards the country and disrespectful towards the candidates to start a registration process without first answering these questions accurately”, he stated.
María Corina Machado is one of the pre-candidates who has rejected the possible technical assistance of the CNE to these elections, on the grounds of possible violations of the identity of the voters.
As clarified by Jesús María Casal, president of the National Primary Commission, the use of the automated system and the use of fingerprint they would not risk the identity of the voters. “These will only serve to verify identity, not for lists,” she said.
The Commission has also decided that with the assistance of the CNE, the electoral registration notebooks should also be physical with the aim of protecting voters. In any case, it is up to the electoral body to respond to this new request to specify said participation.
