“We have urged the government to make a decision, as soon as possible, on the management of the state oil company, in line with the recommendations of its board of directors, which sought to generate efficiencies in the company to achieve its self-sustainability,” he said in a statement.
In this regard, he said that within the framework of APEC, the aim is to give an image of a financially responsible country that encourages private investment, but he said that the oil company’s management is unsustainable due to its financial situation and past mismanagement.
“The resources that have been injected into the state enterprise are financed by all Peruvians. It is money that should be allocated to works that improve the quality of life of citizens, such as health, education and security. The State does not know how to manage companies. Sedapal and Corpac are other examples of this,” he said.

IMMEDIATE DECISIONS
The Lima Chamber of Commerce (CCL) said that the Petroperú crisis is creating a “climate of instability” in the Peruvian economy due to the impact of the growing deficit.
“The CCL demands an immediate response, which was requested on August 28,” the union said, noting that it rejects any attempt to appoint directors and officials who do not have sufficient technical capabilities to deal with the crisis.
