Santo Domingo.- The president of the Association of Teachers (ADP), Eduardo Hidalgo, denounced today that there are still teachers in the country who teach under trees and in improvised classrooms.
Hidalgo said that in the Dominican Republic there are very good teachers who are giving everything for nothing.

“We have very good teachers who are even teaching under trees and on patios. There are a number of makeshift classrooms inside and outside the schools. However, in these educational centers there are good teachers with students who have excellent results at the end of the school year,” Hidalgo said.
When participating in the Weekly Lunch of the Corripio Communications Group, he criticized the number of students in the classrooms, since according to him it affects the quality of education “from the pedagogical and human point of view, teachers cannot attend to the needs of a group of 30 to 40 students.
The trade unionist expressed that the quality of education, in addition to being a demand and a commitment of the ADP, it must produce a deep discussion and be accompanied by the investment that is required.
The lunch included the participation of Primitiva Medina, second vice president of the ADP; Miguel Ángel Fernández, secretary of Retirees and Pensioners Care; Sixto Alfred Gabin, secretary of Higher Education, Science and Technology; and Franco de los Santos, secretary of public relations and communications.
