Entities affiliated with the Potosinista Civic Committee (Comcipo) described as a successful strike the measure deployed for three days and they declared a fourth intermission until the next Consultative Council that will be held on March 23, as reported by the president of this entity, Roxana Graz.
“There will be a convening advisory council for Thursday March 23to receive reports of the authorities, of our national representatives such as senators and deputies, who must inform the steps of the approval of the Law of Evaporites; but also that day the actions to be taken in future mobilizations will be defined”, said the maximum representative of the civics of San Luis Potosí.
The department of San Luis Potosí completed its third day of mobilizations and a 72-hour general strike, which had begun on Monday. The protest media was minimized by the government, whose authorities affirmed that only the municipality of the capital city complied with the measure of pressure and that the rest of the department worked without incident.
The assistants to this evaluation of unemployment admitted that there were deficiencies in some organizations, that they did not comply or that they did not enforce the strike, and urged that the following measures have 100% support from all organizations.
For this reason, they instructed that, for the advisory council on March 23, the president of the affiliated organization and a delegate with decision-making capacity, so that consultations with the bases are avoided. The leaders believe that if the government’s responses are not satisfactory, they will increase the pressure.
comcipo mainly claims the approval of the so-called Evaporitics Law, that regulates the exploitation of the lithium reserves that the department has, in addition to providing the percentage that the department must receive, as the producer of the mineral. The Government has two bills related to lithium in Parliament.
