The president of the Potosinist Civic Committee (Comcipo), Roxana Graz, proposed organizing a national strike in favor of the 2023 censusafter concluding the Potosinista March in which neighbors, unions, doctors and other sectors participated.

“I have called all the civic committees in Bolivia to unify actions in order to declare a national civic strike in favor of the 2023 census. This proposal will be analyzed in a meeting with the presidents”, reported Graz in contact with EL DEBER.

He added that Potosí will request a meeting with citizens to discuss the proposal and there is still no date for the meeting.

Unlike other regions, no incidents were reported during the march. Oruro prepares its council for Monday.

Regarding the national census “summit” organized by the government, he said that the results and resolutions “were to be expected” because, from their perspective, the Government is delaying the solution . He also considers that the discussion space was “unfavorable” for the municipalities that are not part of the MAS.

“It was seen that they wanted at all costs to impose a census for 2024. That is why La Paz, Tarija and Santa Cruz left the meeting,” he said.
