The Chamber of Deputies rejected with 42 votes to 31 the request for intervention against the Central Government administered by Hugo Javier González. About seven lawmakers were absent. The argument of the red bloc that voted for the rejection was an “alleged political persecution” against González. With this, the request goes to the file.

SPEAKERS
During the ordinary session, Kattya González, national deputy for the PEN, pointed out that multiple irregularities were detected during the last three fiscal years in the Central government. In total, all together they add up to G. 24,727 million (US $ 3.5 million).

“It is a monumental corruption emanating from state agencies, it leaves no room for doubt. A management that instead of serving and helping people set about setting up a robbery and looting scheme for the benefit of a group, “he criticized.

Carlos Sebastián García, national deputy for the Patria Querida party, regretted for his part, that the legislators do not show solidarity for the citizens who lost family members because they could not afford intensive care beds.
“There is nothing more miserable than stealing resources to fight the pandemic. Unfortunately it is a new blow to the people. They put numbers, documents and evidence of institutions that respond to the Colorado Party, but the pact, the agreements and who knows what else behind it prevails, “he lamented.

The legislator warned that the risk of the third wave is increasingly latent, but that they are laundering the theft of resources that should be allocated to strengthen the health system.
“We did not care what happened with the Chinese inputs, what happened with the municipalities, and even less this. The numbers and documents are too overwhelming to deny us a detailed investigation, “he lamented.

Basilio Núñez, Colorado national deputy (Chartist), accused the opposition of wanting to regain the Central government through an alternative route to democratic elections.

“They do not take into account the debt left by the previous governor (by the current liberal senator Blas Lanzoni). They took everything, even the taps. There was a debt of G. 14,000 million that should be allocated to the purchase of glasses of milk, “he replied.

CONTEXT
On November 1, Rodrigo Estigarribia, prosecutor of the Specialized Unit for Economic Crimes of the Public Ministry, charged the governor of Central and 14 other people for breach of trust, false statement, production of inauthentic documents and criminal association. This is due to the alleged embezzlement of G. 5,105 million that the government had to allocate to mitigate the pandemic.

A week later, on November 8, the departmental councilors approved the request for intervention. Two weeks later, the Executive sent the request to the Lower House. Finally, yesterday, the request was sent to the archive.
