He does not agree with the idea that it “violates freedom of expression” but the Colorado Party will vote on the media law anyway, said the Colorado deputy for Soriano, Martín Melazzi.
The support will be in the hope that the President of the Republic will veto the media law that is to be approved.
As a member of the Permanent Commission on Industry, Energy and Mining of the House of Representatives, Melazzi expressed to President Luis Lacalle “the discontent of the legislators of the Colorado Party regarding the article that was introduced in the Senate to the Bill that regulates the media, since it strongly restricts freedom of expression.”
The deputy from Soria added that “although the Colorado Party is going to vote on the Project, as the third Chamber, which does not allow for further modifications, it fully trusts that the president can veto it after the vote, as he is a free defender of liberties.”
