Colonia could have Lifeguard service in the next summer season

The councilor Malvina Sarett (Citizens – Colorado Party) met this Tuesday 111 with the Mayor of Colonia, Dr. Carlos Moreira and members of the National Table of Lifeguards in order to coordinate actions for the future creation and installation of the Lifeguard service in the Beaches of the Department of Colonia.
Sarett had sent the president a project through which the entire process of creation, development and installation of the service is contemplated. Initiative that, in addition, received the advice and express support of the National Table of Lifeguards. This project was included in the Government Program and in fact when Mayor Sarett presented it to the Mayor, Deputy Nibia Reisch also participated in the meeting in January.
After the meeting on Wednesday, May 11, Mayor Sarett declared that the meeting “was positive” and that the Mayor told her that, as he had previously stated when he presented the project, “he was still interested in carrying it out, that it will begin to work on developing it from less to more”. Sarett explained that “the survey of the beaches will begin to provide coverage for the lifeguard service and to ensure that the Director of Tourism with that area is providing a coastal service.”
On the other hand, in this meeting, issues related to installation costs were analyzed, such as the case of the booths. Sarett stated that “we were seeing how they could be because there are Departments in which they are removed at the end of the season and then reassembled, or to see if it is possible to leave them and do maintenance, but it depends on each situation. Progress was made on several points because the possibility, which we proposed in the project, that the Manuel Lobo Workshop School carry out the construction of the same is not stopped being contemplated, ”said the Mayor.
Likewise, Mayor Malvina Sarett asked the Mayor if it was feasible that the operation of the Lifeguard Service could be operational for the 2022/2023 season “in order to be able to highlight a virtue, an added value, a strength of our coasts and of our tourism and He told me ´YES, we are going to aim for it to be like that and we are going to make the greatest effort to achieve it´. So the meeting was really positive” said the Mayor.
In the same way, the president spoke with the members of the National Table, whom he consulted on issues related to the form of remuneration and issues of professional operation of the area.
