The authorities detained a colonel from the Dominican Republic Army (ERD) while transporting alcoholic beverages and cigarettes as contraband.
The colonel with a doctor in Dentistry was identified as Ana Rosaida Fernández Guzmán when she was detained by members of the ERD at the Matayaya checkpoint, when she was driving the Toyota brand Jeep, model Land Cruiser Prado, black.

When the vehicle was searched, 1,896 small units of Gold brand rum were seized, divided into two bags, 11 packages of 8PM brand rum chats, for a total of 132 units, and 30 packages of Commel Il Fout brand cigarettes, equivalent to 3,000 units.
The superior officer was taken to the Fortress of the 3rd Infantry Brigade based in San Juan de la Maguana, along with the vehicle and the occupied merchandise.
