SANTO DOMINGO.-Pilot Colonel Floreal Suarez Martinez was appointed today as director of the Specialized Corps of Airport Security and Civil Aviation (CESAC).

Suarez Martínez replaces the technical major general in the position Carlos Febrillet Rodriguez, who was appointed as the new commanding general of the Air Force of the Dominican Republic (FARD).

During the last 18 days, the Specialized Corps of Airport Security and Civil Aviation (Cesac) He remained headless after the changes made last August 16 in the military organizations.

The mission of the Specialized Body for Airport Security and Civil Aviation is to guarantee security services at national and international airports, by applying the standards, methods and procedures established by the International Civil Aviation Organization, ICAO, for the protection of international civil aviation against acts of unlawful interference.

Cesac is a dependency of the Armed Forces, a body created by Decree 28-97, in 1997, with the purpose of being the main person in charge of the tasks and responsibilities of airport security.
