Amni Ortega pushed in three runs and Luis Ramos had an excellent start on the mound so that the ninth of Colón beat Los Santos 7 runs for 3 to win the Major Baseball Championship for the ninth time in its history, the final series ended 4 games to 2 in favor of the colonenses.
In front of a packed Rod Carew Stadium, where the fans from Colón flocked to watch the game, the ninth from Colón dominated the game from the start, scoring a run in the first inning, one in the third, fourth and fifth innings, before mounting a 3-race rally in the seventh and sparking the party in the stands.
Ramos threw 8 solid innings, allowing 3 runs, 4 hits, striking out 6 and bowling 4 to take the victory in the game that gave the title to the colonenses.
Amni Ortega went 2 for 4 with a double and 3 RBIs and Isaías Velasquez went 2 for 3 with two runs scored and two RBIs.
This is the ninth title in the history of Colón and the first since 2017. A great reception is expected in the province with a large caravan to celebrate the championship obtained this Wednesday afternoon.
