Colombia's external debt represented 53.4% ​​of GDP in 2022

The external debt of the public and private sectors totaled US$184,118 million at the end of December 2022, according to the records of the Bank of the Republic.

Public sector obligations totaled US$103,518 millionwhile those of the private sector reached US$79,475 million.

The total amount (US$184,118 million), according to the statistics of the Banco de la República, represented 53.4% ​​of gross domestic product (GDP). The part corresponding to international public debt represented 30.4% of GDP and private debt 23.1%.

During 2022 the Colombian external debt registered an increase of US$12,815 million since it went from closing December 2021 at US$171,303 million to US$184,118 million a year later.
