The Attorney General of Colombia, Luz Adriana Camargo, announced this Wednesday, January 22, the reactivation of the arrest warrants against the peace negotiators of the National Liberation Army (ELN), after the suspension of the negotiation tables due to the conflict in Catatumbo that has left more than 80 dead and 30 thousand displaced.
Camargo, according to a resolution issued by the Colombian Prosecutor’s Office, indicated that the measure is due to the fact that the ELN did not comply with the conditions to maintain the conditions for 31 members of the guerrilla; among them the members of its leadership, alias ‘Antonio García’, ‘Pablo Beltrán’ or ‘Aureliano Carbonell’.
“Failure to comply with the conditions for the suspension of arrest warrants and, in particular, the commission of new crimes by members of the ELN, gives rise to reactivating the arrest warrants suspended at the time at the request of the president,” he said. .

He explained that humanitarian corridors have been set up to ensure the supply of essential goods and facilitate the movement of Catatumbo residents who wish to leave risk areas.
