The president of the Special Commission to Investigate Crimes Against Venezuelan Migrants of the National Assembly, Julio Chávez, assures that the violation of the human rights of Venezuelan migrants has become a business for sectors opposed to the government of President Nicolás Maduro who They operate from Colombia.
Chávez points out that more than 47 Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) that live in Colombian territory have received close to 1,300,000,000 dollars and that today they are being questioned by the migrant population that is asking for accounts about the destination of these resources, since they assure not be served.
“Venezuelan migration is stimulated by sectors of the opposition that have enriched themselves from the money they request for NGOs that do not address the migration problem and that today they are being asked to account for where the money for migrants has gone. ”, he denounces.
He underlines that the right to mobility is a universal right, “but it seems that the governments of the region do not understand it and systematically attack a population that has been encouraged by opposition sectors to leave the country.”
From the administrative headquarters of the national parliament, Chávez offered a press conference this Friday to report on the reception of 232 new complaints of human rights violations of Venezuelan migrants in countries of the region through the virtual attention mechanism of the National Assembly.
With this figure, the cases of human rights violations against Venezuelan migrants accounted for by this Special Commission of the AN amount to 2,761.
