The Colombian Association of Retail Druggists (Asocoldro) reported that the crisis of supply in the sector. As reported, there would be more than 100 drug lines that would be in short supply.
Among the names of pharmaceutical products that are out of stock in Colombia is Dolex for children; Acetaminophen (generic), Tramadol, Immunoglobulin, Vitamins, Lidocaine and Potassium Chloride; and drug groups such as injectable contraceptives, suspensions and syrups.
The union said that the shortage is due to the fact that laboratories are not producing the necessary quantity to supply the global market. In this case, he indicates, the most affected in supply would be the drugstores, since they are the last link in the supply chain, so distribution arrives last in that chain.
Part of the problem is that there are not enough containers to transport medicines by sea, which is included in the current supply crisis that the world is experiencing and that would be affecting almost all productive sectors.

The chain indicated that the medicines that are scarce are: Amoxicillin, Ibuprofen and Acetaminophen in suspension; Salbutamol; Trometamol; N-Acetylcysteine in Syrup; Mometasone Furoate Nasal Spray; Amoxicillin + Clavulanic Acid in suspension; Sultamicillin; Budesonide Inhaler; Carboxymethylcysteine Pediatric Drops; Isotonic Sea Water; Amoxicillin Sulbactam Tablets and Alverine Simethicone Citrate.
