The Colombian team launched this Sunday its preparation to face Bolivia, in the penultimate game of the South American Qualifiers towards the 2026 World Cup. The squad led by Nestor Lorenzo worked at the headquarters of Barranquilla with a small group of soccer players, waiting for the arrival of the rest of the convened.
Among the first to join the concentration were Dayro Moreno, striker of the eleven Caldas, and Yerson Mosquera, defender of the Wolverhampton of England. Both worked alongside a group of 10 youth of the SUB-20, observed directly by the coaching staff headed by Lorenzo.
12 players participated in this first session, who did physical work and ball exercises in small spaces. The objective of the coaching staff is to adjust the preparation progressively as the main figures of the squad are integrated.
Colombia will receive Bolivia this Thursday, September 4 at the Roberto Meléndez Metropolitan Stadium and will close its participation in the qualifying phase on Monday 9 visiting Venezuela. With a single point in these commitments, the coffee team will officially ensure its presence in the 2026 World Cup.
In total, the Argentine coach summoned 26 players. Among the prominent names that will be added to the concentration in the next few hours are Luis Díaz, Richard Ríos, Yerry Mina and James Rodríguez, who will complete the payroll of the tricolor.
