The Foreign Minister of Colombia, Luis Gilberto Murillo, revealed this Tuesday that the government of Nicolás Maduro conditioned the delivery of safe conduct for the six Venezuelan opponents sheltered in the Argentine embassy in Caracas.
As he explained, the Venezuelan State demanded that a close ally of Chavismo detained in Argentina be released and that Jorge Glass be granted safe passage in Ecuador.
«From the moment we assumed custody of the Argentine embassy in Caracas, by instruction of President Gustavo Petro, we worked to obtain safe conduct for these six people. However, the Venezuelan government conditioned its surrender to the release of figures linked to its political environment.»said Murillo during an official event.

The chancellor also explained that he took the negotiations to Brazil and Ecuador, but the demands did not prosper.
«Now, we cannot be saying these confidential diplomatic issues on social media, and they cannot go out and say that we have not done anything. From the first moment, direct communication was established with the Venezuelan opposition and the Maduro government and a conference was held in Bogotá to seek a solution.»Murillo defended with respect to the management carried out.
