The Superintendency of Transportation reported that Between January and June 2025, 85.4 million tons of cargo were mobilized in the country’s port areas. The entity indicated that this figure consolidates Colombia as one of the main logistics referents in the region.
The report said that the Caribbean region led the mobilization with 72.3 million tons, which represents 84.7% of the national total. Secondly, the Pacific region was located with 11.7 million tons, equivalent to 13.7%.

The ports of Turbo, Santa Marta and San Andrés were the highest percentage growth in exports. Turbo recorded an increase of 45.9%, Santa Marta of 29.3%and San Andrés of 8.1%.
In the case of imports, the port of Turbo doubled its volume with an increase of 109%. Buenaventura reported a growth of 26% and Santa Marta of 24.9%.
Ship arrivals and container movement
According to the Superintendence of Transportation, During the first semester of 2025, 6,456 ships arrived in the country, which meant a 14% increase compared to the same 2024 period. Cartagena concentrated 38.9% of those arrivals, consolidating as the main port of arrival.
Port societies mobilized 2.9 million teus, equivalent to 24.8 million tons of cargo. The container terminal of Cartagena SA headed the movement with 1.2 million teus, corresponding to 43.5% of the total. The Regional Port Society of Cartagena took second place with 550 thousand teus, that is, 19.2%.
The official document stressed that the results confirm a trend of strengthening in port infrastructure and the increase in the country’s logistics capacity.

The modernization of our ports and the commitment to sustainable mobility are pillars of this government to better connect the country with the world,” The Minister of Transportation, Mafe Rojas said.
He also recalled that he has digital, telephone and face -to -face care channels to meet concerns of entrepreneurs and users linked to the sector.
