The senior official added: “This short trip had a simple objective: present our respects to the Colombian family and people. In a dark moment, I wanted to let the good people of Colombia know that they are not alone“

Landau accompanied its publication with several photographs of moments of the funeral, both in the National Capitol Elliptical Hall as in the Colombian Primada Cathedral.

Uribe Turbay, 39, and one of the figures of the right -wing party Democratic Center, in opposition to the government of the President Gustavo Petrohe died on Monday, two months after being seriously injured in an attack when he campaigned in Bogotá for the presidential elections of 2026.
He US Secretary of State, Marco Rubioand several politicians in that country have condemned the murder of Uribe Turbay, a crime that has shocked Colombia.
