Thousands of Colombians took to the streets to show their discontent with the administration of Gustavo Petro and Francia Márquez. Plaza Bolívar and Carrera 7ma in Bogotá were packed in a historic day of protest against the government.
After thousands of Colombians will move to various streets in the country, President Gustavo Petro asked that nothing happen to the protesters, assuring that they have the right to protest.
“Now there are some marches against the government and our greatest responsibility is to take care of them, in the past it was not suddenly like that but that is now our duty and commitment,” he said during his appearance at the promotion ceremony to General Salamanca.
“Here they can express themselves as they want as long as their rights are respected,” he said.
