The violence of the armed conflict was intensified this Thursday in Colombia with two attacks against a police helicopter and a base of the Air Force that left at least thirteen dead and dozens of injured and led different sectors to demand overwhelming actions against illegal armed groups.
Attacked in Cali by Public Force and Citizens
In the first attack, apparently with a drone against a police helicopter that transported uniformed for the eradication of illicit crops in the town of Amalfi, in the department of Antioquia, eight uniformed died and another eight were injured.

The second was an attack with a truck loaded with explosives against the Marco Fidel Suárez Aviation School, the main air base of Cali, capital of Valle del Cauca, where at least five people died and 36 were injured.
“Colombia deserves to live in peace. What happened today in Cali in front of the Marco Fidel Suárez Air Base is a cowardly and criminal act that we absolutely reject“said the Colombian vice president, France Márquez.
Both attacks were attributed by the Colombian president, Gustavo Petro, to the Central General Staff (EMC), the main dissent of the former FARC guerrillas, led by Nestor Vera, aka ‘Iván Bordisco’, which operates in departments of the south, the east and western Colombia.

“The attacks with bomb cars in Cali and the murder of eight policemen through drones loaded with explosives are unacceptable facts that show the audacity of crime“said the president of the Senate, Lidio García Turbay.
The senator regretted the “serious deterioration of public order in the country” and added: “We cannot tolerate a setback to the times of magnicides, urban terrorism and the use of technology at the service of the crime.”
