Colombia reaches this Friday, May 6 the goal of vaccination of 70% of the population with the two doses against covid, that is, the complete schedule.
(60-year-old man was vaccinated 90 times to sell the certificates).
Given this achievement, the Government announced the approval of the fourth dose of the vaccine for those over 50 years of age, to be applied 4 months after the first booster dose.
President Duque said that the biological for this dose could be Pfizer or Modern and that the decision to approve the second reinforcement was made considering that it is important to maintain the levels of herd immunity that the country has been presenting until now.
For his part, Defense Minister Fernando Ruiz said that this fourth dose for people over 50 will cover 12,500,905 people and invited Colombians to apply it to increase immunity levels.
“To maintain immunity, we have been applying a first booster for those over 12 years of age, so we invite people who are still needed to go to the vaccination points to apply it,” said Minister Ruiz.
