The document according to the portfolio provides health sovereignty with the purpose of strengthening the national production of medicines, serums and cancer treatments, guaranteeing that Colombians have timely access, at fair prices and with one hundred percent national quality.

He highlighted that this plan contemplates a strategic investment of $1.37 billion, which will be executed between 2026 and 2035, aimed at strengthening infrastructure, technology transfer and the development of national scientific talent.
“With these resources, the creation and modernization of pharmaceutical production plants in different regions of the country will be promoted, reducing dependence on the importation of medicines and consolidating Colombia as a benchmark in innovation and scientific capacity in Latin America”, said the Ministry.

He indicated that they will seek to return to the country the capacity to produce what saves lives. “Today we begin to write a new history for the health of all Colombians,” stated the Minister of Health, Guillermo Alfonso Jaramillo, who highlighted that this advance will reduce access times to essential medicines and guarantee their availability even in crisis situations, such as lived during the pandemic caused by COVID-19.
