Colo Colo won 2-1 against Universidad de Chile in the first classic of this country played outside its territory, in a match played at the Jorge Luis Hirschi UNO stadium in La Plata. With goals from Gabriel Costa, penalty, and Maximilian Falcon, the ‘Cacique’ prevailed against a rival who reduced the difference through Stephen Osorio, in a match that opened Group A of the Argentine Summer Tournament.
In a contest that serves as preparation for the 2022 season both in Argentina and Chile, Colo Colo and Universidad de Chile kicked off a zone that completes Boca Juniors. Group B, meanwhile, is made up of Talleres de Córdoba, Independiente and San Lorenzo, whose first game this Saturday will be the classic between ‘Devils’ and ‘Santos’, also at the Jorge Luis Hirschi UNO stadium in the city of La Silver.
On January 25, the winners of each of the zones will meet in a final that will define the champion of this traditional summer contest, which was usually held in Mar del Plata and which this edition had a last-minute move from San Juan to The Silver.
