Colo Colo of Chile and River Plate of Argentina tied 1-1 on Tuesday at the Monumental Stadium in Santiago, in the first leg of the 2024 Copa Libertadores quarter-finals.
The Cacique resisted the hierarchy of the Millionaire at their stadium in the first battle between both teams despite River scoring first thanks to a shot by Argentine defender Germán Pezzella in the 43rd minute. Colo Colo managed to equalize the score in the 61st minute, thanks to a shot by Carlos Palacios.
The duel will be decided in a week in Buenos AiresThe winner of this tie will face the winner of the Brazilian tie between Fluminense and Atlético Mineiro in the semi-finals.
