At least 15 people were injured in a traffic accident that occurred on the morning of this Tuesday, June 6, at kilometer 47 of the Jinotepe-San Marcos highway.
According to local media, the minibus with the MY 482 license plate, which covers the route from Jinotepe to Masaya, presumably overtook a curve known as Hertylandia, colliding head-on with a bus that was going in the opposite direction and was transferring personnel from a free zone. .
The most seriously injured is the interlocal driver, who was identified as Nelson Humberto Nicolás Murillo, 48 years old. The subject was trapped in the scrap metal of the vehicle and had to be rescued by firefighters, who worked for more than half an hour with hydraulic equipment to free him.

Nelson Nicolás had fractures in both legs and the left elbow; for which he was transferred as an emergency to the Santiago Regional hospital in Jinotepe. In addition, it was learned that the minibus driver is a chronic diabetic patient.
The other injured people were referred to the same care center with injuries of different degrees, reported the commander of the General Directorate of Firefighters Germán Macanche. Most of those affected were interlocal bus passengers.
For his part, José Cristóbal Cruz Rosales, 53, driver of the free zone personnel bus, suffered a nervous breakdown and minor blows.
Among the injured are Hervin Antonio Rivas, 36, who served as the collector of the interlocal minibus and remains in delicate condition.
