The College of Physicians in Mérida announced this Thursday, December 19, that Dr. Yohana Piva, a third-year resident of the Anesthesiology postgraduate course, was released after being detained last Friday, the 13th of that month at the Los Andes University Hospital.
Cristian Pino, president of the institution, stated that the union is “very happy” because Piva is with them; thanking everyone involved in achieving the goal of his release from prison. “We fully believe in the doctor’s freedom,” he stressed.
The doctor will now be under a presentation regime and will be able to attend her in-person classes.
