Despite the fact that the Government promised to reduce the existing debt with weekly payments, the transport chambers ratified the collective strikewhich affects hundreds of citizens.
As advertised, the measure of force will be extended in the transport lines of the Metropolitan Area of Buenos Aires (AMBA), since the collective strike will continue this Wednesday.
This means that during today, for the collective strike, the transport service will continue to be limited, as companies reduced frequencies by 30% during the day. In addition, the service will not be provided at night.
The measure is carried out by the Business Chamber of Passenger Transport (CEAP), the Business Chamber of Urban Transport of Buenos Aires (CETUBA) and the Chamber of Transport of the Province of Buenos Aires (CTPBA).
Regarding the negotiation that was carried out with the Government, it was learned that the Minister of Transport, Alexis Guerrera, offered the transport chambers to pay them $3.9 billion this week of the more than $17 billion they are owed.
Additionally, the ministry would have paid another $2,100 million days ago; however, this would not have been enough for the carriers to lift the force measure.
“We are going to evaluate how much they transferred and from there see how to continue”, indicated the sectorbecause, even before, they had stated that if the debt was not canceled they would suspend the transport service in its entirety.
