The collapse of a property left 11 injured in the neighborhood of Acari, in the north of the city of Rio de Janeiro, during the rains that hit the state this Sunday (22). According to the Municipal Health Department, the injured, including six children, were taken to the Ronaldo Gazolla Municipal Hospital.
Still according to the Department of Health, six had only minor injuries and were released overnight on Sunday. The other five were transferred to other hospitals in the network and are in stable health.
The Fire Department reported that, even before its teams arrived at the scene, all the injured had already been taken to the hospital by neighbors.
Firefighters also recorded a collapse without victims, in Mesquita, in Baixada Fluminense, and a landslide that hit a house in São Gonçalo, in Grande Rio. A man was rescued at the scene, but refused medical attention.
The rains also caused flooding in Baixada Fluminense. The Botas River, which runs through the municipalities of Belford Roxo, Nova Iguaçu and Duque de Caxias, overflowed its banks in several places.
