The Minister of Tourism, David Colladourged the Association of Hotels and Tourism of the Dominican Republic (Asonahores) that all hotel chains and establishments keep the corresponding regulations up to date with the institution they manage.
Through a publication in your count ofthe official explained that this compliance includes the obtaining and validity of the operating licensesthe correction of observations raised during inspections, as well as the timely reporting of hotel occupancy and Meetings, Incentives, Congresses and Events (MICE) activities.

National Tourist Registry
Data available from National Tourist Registry until the December 4 showed that, of a total of 444 establishments hoteliers nationwide:
132 of them lacked of one license
118 of them had a license in “expired” status, which implies a renewal
38 were listed with an “in process” status – including hotel complexes with more than a decade of operations in the National District–
20 of them were listed with a incomplete status –documents are missing for obtaining the license–.
In this way, only the 136 hotels remaining (30.6%) had a license current, a status that indicates that the documentation to operate is up to date and complete according to requirements.
Changes
Recently, the Mitur updated the National Tourist Registry renaming the categories of all the licenses tourism for registered establishments and reducing these sections from five to four.
With euphemisms, hotels that previously appeared with status “in process” are now registered as establishments “in formalization“, while those resorts whose status license were recorded as “overdue” or “incomplete” appear, in many cases, as “inactive.”
Also appears the “does not apply“like a differentiated status in which they appear 27 hotels that previously came to be registered as “without license” or “overdue.”
The update account to 36 hotels additional with licenses “active” –or current, as it was previously called–.
In this way, the tourist registration updated presents:
172 hotels with licenses active
122 of them with a status in formalization
119 resorts with inactive status
27 of them under the category “does not apply“
With these changes, the amount of hotels per day represents 39.0%. This, added to the 27.7% in formalizationresults in 66.7% of hotel establishments operating with licenses up to date or are aimed at regulating their operations.
